About Kutaisi Airport

David the Builder Kutaisi International Airport (IATA: KUT, ICAO: UGKO) is located about 14 km west of Kutaisi, Georgia. The site began as the Kopitnari military airfield, built after World War II for domestic Soviet-era and military flights. It closed for a full reconstruction in November 2011 and reopened on 27 September 2012 with a new terminal designed by the Dutch architecture firm UNStudio — a single-span 'gateway' building whose umbrella-shaped internal structure keeps departing and arriving passengers from crossing paths. Today the airport has one terminal with a single concourse and seven gates, no domestic/international split, and no night curfew. It handles mostly international low-cost traffic: Wizz Air made Kutaisi a focus city in February 2016, alongside limited seasonal domestic service.

Airlines

Kutaisi Airport (KUT) has a single terminal and concourse — there's no alliance-based split between buildings like at larger hub airports. Wizz Air made Kutaisi a focus city in February 2016 and operates the large majority of scheduled routes; a handful of other carriers add seasonal or point-specific service. Always check your airline's own site for the current schedule — low-cost route networks change frequently.
